When I was a child I once saw a Spark.
It shone so bright I could barely look at it.

Picture

The Spark followed me everywhere,

Picture

and every time I looked at it I was dazzled by its light.

Picture

One day I decided I had had enough, so I locked the Spark
in a chest that I hid under my bed.
I felt that from now on I’d be free.

Picture

At school we all got a homework assignment: to come up with a new idea to write about. But no inspiration came to me and I didn’t write anything, it was like none of my ideas were good enough.

Picture

And when a nice girl asked to be my friend I kind of wanted to, but not really… it was like nobody was interesting enough.

Picture

And when I planted a tree in the garden I never managed to tend it. It was like nothing was worth doing enough.

Picture

I became desperate, then suddenly… I remembered the Spark I had locked in the chest a long time ago.

Picture

I took the chest from underneath the bed, opened it and looked straight into the light.
This time it wasn’t too bright at all.

Picture

Suddenly I realized why the Spark had always followed me - it had always been my Spark!

Picture

A Spark of inspiration,
a Spark of wisdom,

Picture

a Spark of love,

Picture

a Spark of life.

Picture

And since I made peace with being with my Spark, finally, everything became full of meaning again and I felt I lacked nothing.
